GRS has successfully completed the New Manufacturing Room project at Teledyne e2v's Firth Road site in Lincoln. Acting as the main contractor, GRS ensured the project’s timely delivery despite the schedule being accelerated by three weeks and additional extras added to the scope. Production in the new facility commenced on 2nd December, ahead of the initial programme completion date.
GRS initially had to clear the site of a lathe and milling machine, which were relocated to a local plastic recycling facility. Additionally, the electrical supply and small power were isolated to a secure room to facilitate the dismantling, relocation, and reassembly of the equipment by Merrits of Nottingham. The machines were then reinstalled in another part of the site and rewired. These preparatory steps were completed prior to commencing work on the new manufacturing room
Dennis & Marwood completed the building and joinery work, constructing the new 10m x 10m x 3.7m Room, utilising Adam Smith for Decoration, MBA Flooring for Vinyl Flooring and Skirting, and Trufix for the new 2.4M New 600 x 600 Suspended Ceiling. The Air Conditioning installation was by Lynx AC.
Electrical work by GRS included New Sub Mains, Small Power, Lighting, AC Supply, Data Installation, Specialised Earthing Points for Electronic Component Installation/Construction and Ventilation.
This project is a testament to the collaborative efforts of our engineers and subcontractors, achieving a high-quality finish underchallenging timelines.
