Rotherham College Clifton Building

GRS is proud to have successfully completed works for Lindum Construction on the remodel, repurpose, and upgrade project at Rotherham College’s Clifton Building. This transformative project is part of a significant investment by RNN Group, which operates the college, to create state-of-the-art facilities for T Level students, equipping the next generation of skilled employees.

The renovation focused on modernizing the Clifton Building to meet the unique demands of T Level technical qualifications. Key improvements include bespoke classrooms and hands-on learning areas tailored for practical education. A highlight of the project is the new construction centre, which consolidates four sub-specialisms—bricklaying, joinery, plumbing, and electrical installation—under one roof.

A new two-storey, multi-purpose workshop has also been created, complete with a brand-new lift designed to transport building materials efficiently between floors. Additional facilities include breakout areas with IT resources for planning, theory work, and health, safety, and welfare lessons. The centre boasts a CAD and VR suite equipped with advanced computer-aided design software and virtual reality technology, enabling students to explore site surveying and construction-specific drawing techniques.

GRS played a critical role in the project by delivering comprehensive electrical services, including:

The success of this project is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our on-site engineers and office teams. Despite a tight timeframe, all electrical works were completed within the summer holiday period, ensuring the timely delivery of this cutting-edge facility.
